Update

The Conseil de gestion de l'assurance parentale will be conducting a survey on family-work balance, in collaboration with the Ministère du Travail, de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale. It is intended for parents who received parental insurance benefits for the birth of a child in 2018 or 2019.

The questionnaire-based survey will be sent by email to approximately 6,000 people as of October 12, 2021. It will take about ten minutes to complete the questionnaire.

Your participation is important to help us further improve the support provided to parents.

The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity and Minister Responsible for the Mauricie region, Jean Boulet, is pleased to announce that parents whose weekly earnings are less than $540 can receive an increased benefit of up to 85% or 100% of their average weekly earnings, depending on the plan option they chose, rather than between 55% and 75% as currently provided for by the QPIP for all its clientele.

If you are planning to file an application for benefits with the Québec Parental Insurance Plan within the next few weeks, changes made to a temporary adjustment measure of the federal government could impact the level of your benefits.
