Termination of Pregnancy

The concept of termination of pregnancy includes a spontaneous or intentional medical termination of pregnancy, a stillbirth or a stillborn child.

In the case of a termination of pregnancy, you may be entitled to maternity benefits. This termination must occur after the 19th full week of pregnancy. Subject to exceptions, the benefit period ends no later than 20 weeks after the week when the termination of pregnancy occurs.

No other type of QPIP benefit exists in the case of a termination of pregnancy.
