Benefits When There is a Termination of Pregnancy

If a mother’s pregnancy is terminated, she may be entitled to maternity benefits. The termination has to have occurred after the 19th full week of pregnancy. Barring exceptions, the benefit period ends at most 18 weeks after the termination of pregnancy.

The table below indicates the maximum number of maternity benefit weeks and percentage of average weekly earnings the mother may be entitled to, depending on the plan chosen.
